I was a little surprised but I said this is a cafe right? Let me in, I want to have a cup of coffee. He said we don’t serve coffee. Please leave”
Siddiqui mentioned that the guard was not at all polite when he told him that. Siddiqui then just simply went back to his bike and waited, as his friends arrived just after 5 minutes. He told us that his friends didn’t even come off the bike, they called their client and gave them the address of some other restaurant and without wasting a single second they were off to that other restaurant to meet him. Siddiqui was still hurt and was feeling insulted because of what happened to him. This is what he had to say about happened next
“I was so frustrated but I calmed myself down, went to him again and asked him why are you not letting me in? Do you serve food right? What if I want to eat here? Do you ask all your customers what they want to eat before entering? He said no. I did ask, why me then? He said because you are on Bike. I went in shock. I asked him again. ARE YOU NOT LETTING ME IN BECAUSE I CAME ON A MOTORCYCLE? He said yes, that why you are not allowed.
He further said that it was heart-breaking and extremely humiliating. In the end he said that he is really thankful to all the people who reacted on this and that he is not against anyone, he felt that if there is a specific policy on appearance or on the transportation at least it should be mentioned or at least guard should allow the guest to talk to the manager.
