RIYADH: The Saudi Railways Organization (SRO) has amended its arrangements to open new stations in Jeddah, King Abdullah City and Madinah on business premise pending full operation of Haramain Train Stations before the end of 2017, neighborhood media reported.
It is too soon to choose whether the stations will work economically before the reasonable operation of the railroad undertaking is updated, as it will require upkeep and cleaning costs, a venture official told Aleqtesadiah day by day.
“Working the stations will constitute a budgetary weight on the undertaking administration on the grounds that the key client, travelers, has not come yet,” he was cited as saying.
Leasing stores and eateries at Madinah and Rabigh stations and opening them to general society before the train task is operational abuses contracts marked with the Spanish consortium, he said.
He said the Spanish consortium will be completely in charge of operation and support of the task more than 12 years beginning 2017.
He denied takes a shot at the venture have backed off, including that all the undertaking contracts would be finished before the end of 2017.
The railroad venture will see 35 traveler autos on two-way trips each 30 minutes amongst Makkah and Madinah, he said.
Ventures between urban areas will take distinctive times, as takes after: Makkah-Jeddah 21 minutes, Jeddah-King Abdulaziz Airport 14 minutes, King Abdulaziz Airport-Rabigh 36 minutes, Rabigh-Madinah 61 minutes.
